The colours of change

A change will do you good

You’re just stuck in a rut

A breath of fresh air is what’s needed

To blow those cobwebs away

There’s no harm in that.

But the grass is always greener…

Or should that be a shade of turquoise blue

Cerulean, teal or aqua

Colours hijacked like territorial flags

For evil intent.

Can’t you see it?

Or don’t you want to?

You protest for a cause

To protect the billionaires

and their investments

They’re not endangered species

Their ideas grow like a black oil slick

On calm blue seas

Or spread perniciously

Like a purple bruise

on a battered brown body

Flow like rich red blood that pours

From a gunshot wound.

Sometimes change isn’t the answer

And it takes more courage

To hold firm and see this through

As was originally planned

Let’s do this together

Just take my hand.
