BCWC stands for British Christian Writers Conference - it took me ages to get those letters into my head and now they are not leaving.
I’m not a big fan of acronyms, they can be too exclusive, especially when bandied around to the uninitiated.
Perhaps that’s why I like acrostic poems, giving a word or a sentence for each initial.
So when I stumbled into Ruth Leigh’s poetry workshop at BCWC, without pen or paper (almost unforgiveable for a writer) I sort of missed the brief, but caught the essence. Write a poem in 5 minutes.
My first attempts were feeble and it was only as others began reading theirs out an acrostic occurred to me.
It took me far too long to think up the word for P, which when you read it is quite ironic.
Ruth encouraged us to write up our poems, putting them somewhere where we would be reminded of our brilliance. What better place to put it than on my blog.
There is probably so much more I could write about the weekend, but it is Monday morning and there is much to do.
So I will leave you with my 4 word poem…
